Schloss CharlottenburgDay 1 - Depart for Berlin. Dinner on board. 

Day 2 - After relaxing at our first class hotel, we'll join our guide on a walking tour of the central city. This will give us an orientation to our neighborhood, sites, shops, and public transportation. 

Day 3 - Today's sightseeing highlights some of the most famous sites of Berlin: Check Point Charlie; the Brandenburg Gate; Reichstag; Cathedral; Potsdamerplatz; and Charlottenburg Palace. 

Brandenburg GateDay 4 - Follow our guide today on a walking tour of sites of the Third Reich: Wilhelmstrasse and surrounding streets; Wilhelm Platz, the site of Joseph Goebbels' Propaganda Ministry; Prinz-Albrecht-Strasse, the location of Gestapo headquarters. 

Day 5 - Today is available for an optional tour to Meissen and Dresden. Meissen is a perfectly preserved medieval town and home of the famous Meissen porcelain. Dresden, known as the "Florence on the Elbe," is famous for its art and architectural treasures, many of which are collected in the Albertinum Museum, the highpoint of our sightseeing in Dresden. 

Day 6 - "If you can visit only one museum in Europe, this is the one." We are off to the magnificent Pergamon Museum, home of the Great Altar of Zeus, possibly the most famous sculpture group from late antiquity. Here too is the Ishtar Gate, through which passed the kings of Babylon. 

Day 7 - This morning we'll visit Gendarmenmarkt, one of the most beautiful squares in Europe. Here we find the Konzerthaus Berlin, German Church, Schiller Memorial, and French Church. This afternoon, Gemütlichkeit and a brewery tour. 

Botanischer GartenDay 8 - With our transport and museum pass, Berlin is ours. One of the best ways to observe a culture is by interacting with natives. We can ride with them, walk their streets, and dine with them in their cafes. We suggest a visit to the Gemäldegalerie, one of Germany's greatest museums, filled with works of Raphael, Titian, Botticelli, Correggio, Bosch, Breughel, and many others. 

Day 9 -Today has been reserved for an optional tour to Potsdam, the seat of Prussian military might. We will visit Sans Souci, Frederick the Great's famous palace, and Schloss Cecilienhof, the summer residence of the Hollenzollern family, where Truman, Churchill, and Stalin met to confirm the terms of the Yalta Conference. 

Day 10 - We will be driven to the airport for our flight home.
